Sr. Project Engineer

Job Purpose

To implement and manage project/contract upon award within the approved cost and time effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist General Manager / Head of Department in project’s contract and/or costing review.
  • Prepare and authorize the project implementation program.
  • Manage all related works to the Project(s) assigned by implementing good project management practices.
  • Review and agree on the authorized project budget.
  • Review manpower requirements with management.
  • Sourcing, identification, selection & recommendation of suitable subcontractors/suppliers for the project and in accordance with the company’s purchasing procedure.
  • Initiate relevant documents e.g., Purchase Requisition, Subcontractor / Supplier Comparison Report.
  • Report regularly to the General Manager / Head of Department on technical, commercial and quality issues.
  • Coordinate and review project progress.
  • Resolve quality issues with external parties including but not limited to the client, consultant, vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the engaged subcontractors/suppliers throughout the project. Review the performance of the engaged subcontractors/suppliers at the end of the project.
  • Responsible for investigating, implementing corrective action, monitoring, and verifying the effectiveness as well as preventive action to the complaint(s) received.
  • Act on warranty and defect liability matters in a timely manner.
  • Consistently presents KJ Technical Services Sdn Bhd / KJ Engineering Sdn Bhd and its services in a positive manner to the client.
  • Ensure all documentation for the project is maintained properly and as per the company’s standard.
  • Ensure QHSE standards in the project(s) are adhered to at all times.
  • Carry out any other assignment as assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements

Qualification

Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Technology (Air Conditioning & Industrial Refrigeration) Engineering

Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in managing HVAC projects or Management construction environments.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Understanding engineering standard practice.
  • Good fundamentals in engineering knowledge.
  • Knowledge of computer software e.g. AutoCAD / MS Office / Primavera.
  • Technical report writing skills.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, problem-solving & communication skills.
  • The ability to travel and relocate based on project assigned all over Peninsular Malaysia.
