SENIOR CONTROLS & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

Job Purpose

To lead the design, development, implementation & commissioning for air conditioning and related HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and specification of control systems architecture, instrumentation layouts and system interfaces.
  • Architecture Development : Develop PLC, DCS and SCADA configurations to meet operational requirements.
  • System Integration: Carry out DCS/PLC/SCADA system integration work based on design, selection of instrument (such as PLC, SCADA and etc.), generation of controller panel terminal block termination instrument, generation of controller panel terminal block termination list, provide guidance to contractors and carry out PLC & SCADA programming.
  • Select appropriate instruments (eg flow, pressure, temperature sensors, flowmeters) and ensure proper integration.
  • Establish and review design requirements and criteria by studying the tender specification, customer requirements, performance & functional standards, regulatory & statutory requirements and other requirements essential to the design and development process.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Plan & conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), loop checks, and commissioning activities.
  •  Carry out technical studies & proposals: Site evaluation studies, communication with specialist suppliers, gathering of additional data.
  • Assist the Project Team in carrying out design review and verification when required. Upon system completion, commission the system and produce handover documents.
  • Comply with ISO9001 Design Procedures.
  • Provide engineering assistance to business components, such as the operations and maintenance (O&M), purchasing, project and business development.
  • Carry out any other assignment as assigned by management, such as plant performance monitoring from time to time. 

Requirements

Qualification & Experiences:

  • Degree in any Engineering / Science Discipline
  • Minimum 4 years experience in Controls & Instrumentation

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge in process control in instrumentation, PC, PLC, SCADA and telemetry systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill 
  • Able to interact well with personnel at all level.
  • Creative, problem solving, analytical and high numeracy.
