iHandal, the Malaysian clean energy company behind the HeatFuse® platform, has been named to the inaugural cohort of The Clean Fight’s International Landing Pad, a programme run in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to decarbonise New York City’s built environment. iHandal is the sole Malaysian company selected among ten international companies drawn from Malaysia, India, Ireland, Canada, the UK, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
iHandal was selected under the Clean Heating & Cooling category, grouped alongside Carbon Cap (Canada) and 3eFlow (Sweden) among the four solution tracks that make up the cohort, which also include Building Intelligence & Retrofit, Energy Infrastructure Platforms, and Energy Storage. The company’s profile in the programme highlights its proprietary heat pump technology, which captures and recycles waste heat from commercial and industrial buildings into usable clean energy, delivering heating-as-a-service with no upfront hardware costs, a description that reflects iHandal’s HeatFuse® platform and its subscription-based Heating-as-a-Service (HaaS) model.

As part of the International Landing Pad, iHandal will receive tailored business development matchmaking with The Clean Fight’s network of customer partners across real estate, retail, utilities and energy storage, alongside capital matchmaking across venture capital, venture debt, credit and project finance. The company is also eligible to apply for the programme’s Deployment Grant Fund, which offers grants of US$50,000 to US$250,000 to offset the cost of first-of-a-kind deployments in New York City, subject to available funding. Additional support includes guidance on New York’s regulatory and permitting landscape, curated events and investor exposure, and twelve months of access to a shared co-working space in midtown Manhattan.
The selection builds on iHandal’s existing relationship with The Clean Fight, having taken part as a Cohort 1 alumnus and completed a New York City pilot with Kelvin. The International Landing Pad marks a deeper, longer-term vehicle for iHandal’s entry into the New York market, building on that earlier groundwork.
Since launching, The Clean Fight’s programmes have helped alumni companies secure a combined US$800 million in follow-on funding, deploy more than 10,000 follow-on projects, and create 900 jobs in manufacturing, construction and technology.
The recognition earmarks a significant milestone for iHandal and for Malaysia’s clean technology sector more broadly, positioning a Malaysian-founded company alongside global peers on one of the industry’s most closely watched international stages.
